Condolences to the Victims of the DC Metro Crash

Posted in Uncategorized by Abdur-Rahman Muhammad on June 24, 2009

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims of yesterday’s horrific Metro crash here in DC. Nine people lost their lives in the accident and another seventy-five were maimed or injured. We’re starting to get reports of partially severed limbs and other terrible injuries and the entire region is in a sort of pall. The DC Metro rail system is almost a half century old and desperately in need of resources, but that is not going to excuse this failure, the worst accident in its history. Conventional wisdom is that heads are going to roll on this one, but for the time being let us remember these grieving families.
